There’s abundant material available around the internet now, thankfully, that debunks the climate change myth. Slowly people are being made aware that the “science” behind the whole thing was very shoddy from the beginning, and the only reason it has been perpetuated is because there are clearly people who have a vested interest in it. People who would use fear for control.
But Christians should NEVER have been suckered into climbing up on this bandwagon in the first place. The reason I say that is because just a few minutes thought about it for anyone who has a basic Biblical knowledge should have clued you in to the fact that it was nothing but a diversion.
Let me just give you 2 Biblical reasons why the global warming alarmists should never have troubled us:
1. The Noahic covenant. God saved Noah and his family from the flood of His judgment by having him build the Ark. (Noah entered the Ark as a minority, but he emerged as a majority. Never be concerned about the crowd when God says something different.)
After the waters finally receded, Noah stepped out of the Ark on dry ground, and we read that beautiful promise God gave. He pointed Noah to the rainbow in the sky, and He said:
“I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done. While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.“ (Genesis 8:21-22)
God specifically said that this earth, for as long as HE allows it to remain, will always have its ordained cycles and seasons. And, as if anticipating the nonsense that would be peddled in our generation, He specifically mentions “cold and heat”.
2. The future of the earth has been revealed. We know from Scripture exactly how human history will be ended, with the glorious 2nd coming of Jesus Christ, when “the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our God and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever.” (Revelation 11:15) AND we are told exactly what will happen to the earth itself. God will destroy it with fire, and create a new heaven and a new earth (Revelation 21:1).
As John Macarthur said in one of his sermons (I’m paraphrasing), “If you think there’s a problem with what we’re doing to the environment, just wait and see what Jesus does to it!”
Here’s the rub. This planet has been magnificently designed by an awesome Creator to be the stage on which His great plan would be played out. He has always known the entirety of the story of human history, even from before it began. The earth is made to last in its present form for as long as it is needed, and then only the Creator will dispose of it.
Sin has wreaked havoc in the world. Romans chapter 8 tells us that the creation itself is groaning in birth pangs, waiting for the final revelation (see also Matthew 24). But though it groan, it will not fail to fulfill the Master’s requirement for it, right to the very end.
Why would we waste any time worrying about the environment, when we SHOULD be concerned only for the next world and the countless souls who will be eternally lost unless they hear and obey the gospel? Any Christian unduly caught up with such things has been devilishly diverted from their calling, and needs to come back to the plain teaching and demands of the Word of God.
P.S. The Bible is sufficient for us. But if you are interested in seeing how BAD the “science” is that has been foisted on us by the peddlers of the climate change myth, below I have embedded my favorite video dealing with it. My only suggestion is this: take an hour to watch it, then dismiss the whole concern from your mind, wasting no more time on it, and get about the work of winning souls.
