Francis Chan Talks About Christian Persecution in India [Video]

The footage shown in the video is real, provided by Voice of the Martyrs.

It ought to make us evaluate for a moment …

While we comfortable middle-class American Christians go about our compartmentalized lives in the “pursuit of happiness” (our constitutional right), and …

While we put on endless Christian concerts and conferences with light shows and multimedia, amusing ourselves to death, and …

While prosperity preachers flood the airwaves with religious gobblydegook that tickles ears, peddles books, steals money from widows and orphans, and pays for their latest jet upgrade, and …

While “emergents” fiddle about with their deep-sounding philosophy that’s sure to change the world this time (even though the very same thing amounted to less than zero when it was just called good old-fashioned liberalism in the last century), and …

While denominational officials shuffle paper and people around offices (paid for with billions of dollars that could keep our missionaries supplied and on the field without interruption until Jesus comes) …

all the while …

REAL Christianity is being lived out by our brothers and sisters in places like North India, China, North Korea, and 50 other countries where it is illegal to preach the gospel. Precious brave souls tell the good news at the risk of more than awkwardness or embarrassment.

What Jesus died for, we treat as “a nice addition to our lives”, a conversation, a game, and a business.

God forgive us. Lord, for Your great Name’s sake, revive us.  Let the priests, who minister to the LORD, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O LORD, And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ (Joel 2:17).

Lord, help our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world. By your Spirit, strengthen them with courage, and embrace them with Your comfort. Give them fruit for all their labors. Amen.

    Sadly Pastor Phil,

If we who call ourselves “Christians” in America would only grasp the concept of what it means to BE a follower of Jesus Christ, I think we’d throw in the towel in light of this! And many of us have, because we’ve conformed to the god of comfort and complacency by fearing the criticism and cares of those who don’t believe His message. So we, unfortunately, draw back in fear rather than make the proper confession with our conversation and conduct in Christ Who conveyed to us on numerous occasions that we should, “Deny ourselves, pick up our cross, and follow Him.” (Matt 16:24, Mark 8:34,10:21, Luke 9:23, John 21:19)

    Thanks Pastor Phil
May the Lord of the Harvest continue to send us without fear In Jesus Name!
